The Assistant Secretary for Consumer Affairs in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the head of the organizing committee for the First Saudi Forum for Consumer and Social Responsibility, Mr. Saleh bin Musa Al-Khalil today signed an agreement with the Chairman of KCORP, Dr. Abdulaziz Sager, to organize the Saudi First Forum for Consumer and Social Responsibility to be held during the second half of Rabi'a Al-Awal 1433H.
In this context, Mr. Al-Khalil stated that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is now preparing for the forum and the organizing committee has begun to draw up a comprehensive plan for its organization and is forming a number of committees for precise follow-up in order to guarantee the success of the forum. Mr. Al-Khalil said that the organizing committee estimates that more than 1,500 people would participate in the forum, including in the public sessions and the workshops that will be conducted over three days. The forum would enrich the debate and discussions about the current and prospective future of consumer protection. The organizing committee is working now to select key speakers with expertise in the subject from inside and outside the kingdom in order to benefit from their knowledge and experience.
Mr. Al-Khalil stressed the important role of the private sector in carrying out the plans for and achieving the goals of consumer protection. He placed great emphasis on the necessity for fruitful and constructive cooperation to achieve the interests of the society.
